Joystiq:
Ubisoft revealed today that actors from the new James Cameron film Avatar will voice the same roles in the game adaptation. Sigourney Weaver, not seen recently in the Ghostbusters game, will play Dr. Grace Augustine in the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and PC versions of the game. Michelle Rodriguez will appear as helicopter pilot Trudy Chacon in the PC, PS3, and 360 games, which will also feature bad guy Col. Quaritch, played by Stephen Lang. Giovanni Ribisi (from My Two Dads) will appear only in the Wii version, as "the arrogant Parker Selfridge." The best news out of all of this, of course, is that none of these actors are James Cameron.

In Lyon, France today Atari has announced its fiscal results for the first quarter ended June 30. Total revenues were up 30.1% to 54.5 million euros, thanks mainly to the success of two titles: Ghostbusters: The Video Game and The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena.
The U.S. business drove the bulk of sales with 45.5 million euros in the quarter, which is an 82% increase. This offset a nearly 49% decline in the European business, as revenues dropped to 8.6 million euros. In the U.S., Atari also noted that it saw improved third-party distribution revenues, which now represent approximately 33% of U.S. Distribution revenues (thanks to local distribution deals with ZOO Games and CDV Software Entertainment).

This mid-year update allows Plastic Wax to reveal 2009 collaborations that had been kept under wraps for months: the opening cinematic and unlockable cinematic for Activision’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen game, two different thirty-second television spots that mix live action and CG (which involved animating the classic Slimer character) for Atari’s Ghostbusters, and the E3 2009 CG trailer to launch the new Relic/THQ title Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. Plastic Wax also has a number of unannounced videogame projects in the works, as well as a feature length film.

It’s funny, really, ‘Ghostbusters: The Video Game’ is a bit of a misnomer. It’s Ghostbusters, yes, and it’s clearly a video game because here it is loading up in our 360 under ‘Game’. But this is, without question, Ghostbusters 3 ‘the movie’. As a game it’s far from perfect, but in a very refreshing turn of events we can confidently say that, for once, that isn’t the point. …

Rumours have been floating around since the UK launch of Ghostbusters on PS3 that one UK retailer was managing to sell the title on Xbox 360.
While the game’s UK release date on Xbox 360 had been knocked back until around October, thanks to a move by Sony, fans wanting to get the game on Xbox 360 have managed to get their way, in the North East at least….
