See, I have no way of connecting to the internet with my Xbox 360. I’m getting the NXE by downloading it to my computer and transferring it to the Xbox via flash drive. I’ve been wondering if you need to connect the Xbox to the internet to create an avatar or not. Thanks in advance.

During the Gearsiverse panel at Comic-Con, Epic’s Cliff Bleszinski and Ron Fergusson revealed that there will be Gears of War-themed armor of both the COG and Locust variety coming to XBL Avatars soon. One rule that Microsoft imposes on Avatar clothing and models is that they "can’t look inhuman," according to Bleszinski. So they pieced together a workaround set of Locust armor that you can check out beyond the break.
Look for these new Avatar upgrades to be available when the next Xbox Live dashboard update becomes available soon. Meanwhile, we’re going to scurry out to our preview builds to see if they’re already available

Paul W.S. Anderson tells Shock Till You Drop that Resident Evil: Afterlife will be his 4th RE film, but not a sequel. Instead the series will be revamped and start as a whole new trilogy. Afterlife will have a bigger budget than the previous films and will see the return of old characters and new ones. The film will also be joining that whole 3D fad that decided to rear its head up from the 70’s.
"I always envisioned Resident Evil as a trilogy of films, "he said. "And we’ve been very lucky where it’s a trilogy where the audience has built and built. I wanted to kick off a brand new trilogy. I’m really excited we’re doing it [in 3-D] and we’re using the same camera system [James] Cameron used for Avatar. There are a lot of exciting things about this one. I don’t regard it as Resident Evil 4, I regard it as a re-tooling and rebirth of the entire franchise."
Our guess is that Paul will take the Fast And Furious approach; by having a film that ignores previous events and rewrites the series history. This is good news for die hard Resident Evil fans. Maybe, just maybe we can have a RE film that doesn’t stray so far from the source material. We’re looking at you Extinction.

James Cameron is hoping fans will be wowed by his upcoming 3-D epic Avatar. But don’t expect him to reveal any secrets from his $240 million, computer-generated opus.
"You’re not going to find ‘behind the scenes’ extras on the DVD," Cameron says. "I think the movies aren’t the big, wonderful mysteries they used to be. I don’t want to see some guy in a black leotard and dots showing me how he made himself look like an animal."
He may be Hollywood’s most gifted tailor of cinema and technology, but Cameron remains a pretty old-fashioned guy. Until today, the director has kept his film as secret as a birthday gift – one he plans to present with 20 minutes of footage at Comic-Con.

BeefJack writes: "From next Wednesday July 8th, your Xbox 360 avatar will be able to fight for you.
That’s assuming you have the XBLA game Band of Bugs, and get the new mode that will be released for it called Spider Hunter, and you will also be able to use said Avatar in the single player mode, replacing main character Maal. The download will be free, which is always a bonus, and will let you cast fireballs and spells with your avatar."
